Socktober: 5th-Grade Service Learning Project to Support Maine's Homeless at MSAD 51

At Greely Middle School, two classrooms are embarking on service learning to help their entire community!

Last fall, Mrs. Gervais's and Mrs. Rothbart's 5th-grade students created Socktober to raise awareness about homelessness and provide an opportunity to supply people in need with their number one needed item—socks!

During the entire month, the two groups raised money for the sick, which will then be delivered to Maine Needs, a local Maine organization that will coordinate the distribution of the items to Maine residents in need.

Thank you, Greely Middle School, for your hard work for your community!
