Maranacook Community High School's winning system for guest tours

Whenever Principal LaForge of Maranacook Community High School welcomes visitors to her school, she chooses a student to give guests a building tour. How does she do this? She walks into the hallway and picks the first student she sees! High school students are the best guides of their own school and their own learning. EVERY visitor has spoken highly of their teenaged tour guide, every time, in every school Principal LaForge has been in. What is so great about a public school? The people, as seen here: a group of students in a very challenging accounting class, a group of students in study hall with Senora Barley, and finally, a picture of Principal LaForge proudly sporting a Maine Loves Public Schools t-shirt with the Maranacook Black Bear. Go public schools! Go teenagers! Go all the people who love and work with teenagers!
