Parents and community members in Waterville love the school's performing arts program, and the transformative impact it's had on students at Waterville Junior High School (WJHS) and Waterville Senior High School:
Under the exceptional leadership of Sue Barre, chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department, Waterville's performing arts programs have flourished. From drama to orchestra, jazz band to chorus, students have access to diverse opportunities that allow them to explore their creativity and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
The program's prestigious recognition as the NFHS Performing Arts School of Excellence in 2023 speaks to the dedication of our educators and the remarkable talents of our students.

The performing arts are more than extracurricular activities—they are a powerful force that builds confidence, fosters collaboration, and enriches the lives of students and the community. I am inspired by the way these programs nurture a love of storytelling and provide students with a platform to share their voices.
